Flight Engineers 

Flight engineers (second officers) monitor the engines, fuel consumption, and functioning of aircraft systems during flight, and may assist in flying the aircraft.

Degrees associated with this career: High School Diploma, Certificate, Diploma

Requirements: In general, you must finish high school, graduate from a certified flying or aviation school, and have a commercial pilot's licence or an air transport pilot's licence. You may also need a university degree or college diploma. Some employers may provide structured training for pilots and flight engineers. Many recent entrants have a trade / vocational certificate or community college diploma, and almost 3 in 20 have an undergraduate university degree.

    hi.i have been flying airlines for a couple of years but i want to pursue some other line in aviation sector. can you please suggest something. and also any distance learning courses that i can pursue for eg flight safety etc

    due contract basis i need to stay with the company for two more years doing normal admin jobs. I intend to be absorbed in the corporate world as soon as i get released from the present job.

      So i want to imrove my resume by gaining qualifications. I am looking forward of making a career in airport management, security services etc.

    You can look for being flight engineer (of course that would need technical degree), aircraft maintenance engineer (MRO services are in vogue esp. outside India), Flying instructor (may not suit you), Ground duty service officer or look for course in aviation management. Having said that, you can look for areas outside aviation as well. There is good demand of people from aviation sector/ defence sector in security services/ banking services for specific jobs.

    Even a job in HR / admin is within your reach however salary may not match that for a Pilot.
